The Royal Treatment
At the Royal Suites American Music Awards event, held on Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th of November 2007, at Mandy's Make up Boutique in Melrose ave, I met the fabulous team of Lauren Taylor.
Not only are they talented artist of hair they work wonders with a make up brush!
Crammed into a 5 X 8 room they were able to carefully and meticulously craft an assortment of hair extensions into 3 eager guests. One American-African woman received two hands full of blond extensions. Leaving her once limp and drab hair into a masterpiece of curls and seduction. Another such Guest received the newest line of extensions called Invisibles. These extensions are much smaller and more delicate than the traditional hair pieces. These extensions are sewn in and take two hairstylists to reproduce the fullness of a thinning hair line. Once sewn in the extensions are seemingly invisible to the naked eye. I know, I was a few inches away as they began to place the first of many onto a American -Mexican woman who had noticeably thinning hair and afterwards searched for the classic bulge of a hair extension.
Don't think that Lauren Taylor only does hair. Their make up artist and stylist Manuel Saucedo as on hand to give this awestruck plain-jane a lesson in color. As I peaked in to this tiny jail cell of enticement, He took one look at me and said, Girl, you need some COLOR!!!!?
I thought to myself how many things there are that I may need but certainly color wasn't one of them. After a bit of coaxing he brought out a bag of strawberry blond extensions and said, “lets do it!” A few minutes later I walked out of there with long pink strands that shined against my pitch black hair.
After such great work with hair I had to do my make up! So I visited Aila Owaynat, of Paula Dorf Cosmetics. And she air brushed foundation that made my freckles disappear. Truly giving me that flawless foundation every make up commercial promises. Then she gave me a highlighted colors by adding blood red lipstick and some smoky eyes to get me ready for an evening event after the AMA glamazon prep show event.
